“La Rosa”

In this painting, I am using the imagery of the rose a refuge for healing. In my case, it has served as an inspiration for meditation in all its spiritual associations and as a support in healing from breast cancer. My intention is to have the woman blend and almost hide inside the rose implying the concept of safe refuge. Cancer has been a process of purification across all levels of my existence, and an evolutionary soul path.

The rose has held profound spiritual significance across various religions, symbolizing immortality, and divine beauty. The rose’s intricate layers also mirror the unfolding mysteries of the divine. It is said that the scent of roses in paradise surpasses all earthly pleasures, signifying spiritual fulfillment and eternal bliss. Their fragrance is seen as a reminder of the presence of God and the blessings bestowed upon believers.

The rose signifies devotion and the heart’s longing for union with the divine. The lotus and the rose are often compared, with both representing spiritual awakening and the blooming of consciousness.
