"Self Healing"
This painting is about the ability to restore one’s body in nature and stillness surrendering to the healing power of Mother Earth. The landscapes belong to Patagonia on the left, with the Andes and its glaciers diving straight into the Pacific Ocean, the trees are the ancient Auracarias, sisters of the Sequoias and get to live thousands of years alike.
Condors represent the ability to see reality from a higher perspective as they soar high in the sky.
The landscape on the right is the gentle tropical sea with tranquil waters. The Macaws represent loyalty because they mate for life and can always be found flying in pairs.
This self-healing painting was inspired by my own process of healing from breast cancer. The spiritual aspect of this process had to do with confronting the many demons that had been passed on to me by ancestral wounding of the feminine. They had to be acknowledged and let go of. The snake coming out of her breast represents the cancer leaving the body. Snakes possess an antivenom against their own poison and they are often seen as symbols of healing, transformation. In many cultures they are used as symbols of medicine, love, death, wisdom and immortality.
The plants on the foreground all contain healing properties, some are plants of power that when ingested can trigger the mind to access repressed memories, ego deaths, healing from trauma and can lead to a process self-realization when used with reverence.
