2020. Kali’s Wrath
The title of this piece is simply “”2020” , the year that Humanity was struck with a major ‘wake up call”.
A brief summary of the story about Kali, why she has thirst for blood and why Shiva is beneath her?
Because she was protecting Humanity from an evil demon that was killing everybody on sight, and his power relied on the fact that whenever the soldiers would wound him, every little drop of blood he would shed as soon as it touch the ground, a clone of the monster would sprout and each as voracious as the original demon... SO Kali had to move faster and faster to kill every and each one of the new demons ... She was possessed in this frenzy of death. She went into a trance and could not stop killing, she even started to kill the few soldiers who had survived. When Shiva, her consort, got word of this, he ran to the site and prostrated his body under her so as to appease her. This act of surrender to the wrath of Kali, woke her up, just as she was ready to slay her beloved Shiva, she recognized him and she came back to her senses putting the sword down . Artist's license: The copulation between Kali and Shiva is rarely depicted in Hindu mythology, I included it because it can be interpreted as an act of calling forth new life on earth as Kali and Shiva merge in an act of redemption.
