Ayahuaska, Natém or Yajé is revered by pre-Columbian Amazonian people as the most self-revealing sacred plant medicine of all. Throughout time and throughout the Americas, sacramental participation has allowed the human consciousness to interact with plant consciousness allowing the psyche to unfold and also to confront the false ego. This medicine is here to assist human evolution into higher realms of existence in close empathic communion with the Earth. This painting came about in an attempt to document the state in which one often finds oneself during this sacrament. Ayahuaska as a woman in a deep state of surrender to her own divinity.
