“Kai-Kai’s Moon”

In the Indigenous Chilean Mapuche mythology, we are told that at the beginning of time there were two snakes circulating in the unmanifested Cosmos – Kai-Kai and Tren-Tren. They initiated a singing dispute wherein Kai-Kai called our waters into being (oceans, rivers, streams, lakes, springs and glaciers) and Tren-Tren separated the soil from the waters with his song, so humans could live on dry land.
